Closing Property or Account


If the times comes that you decide to sell your property or no longer use SlateHouse for your management needs to contact your property manager or email support@slatehousegroup.com.


You should expect the following things to happen:

  • Current leases and tenant ledgers will be forwarded to you when your account is closed.

  • As of the date of termination, any utilities currently in our name will be terminated. You should call and have utilities started in your name so there isn’t a lapse.

  • Any bills that are still in your name but mailed to us will be redirected to the mailing address we have on file for you.

  • Your account will be put on hold for 30 days to make sure all outstanding bills are received and paid.  A final statement will be sent to you via mail within 30 days of the termination date as well as a final payment for any remaining money in your account.  You will not be paid via ACH -- your final check (if there is a balance with SlateHouse) will be sent with your final statement within 30 days of the last day of management.  It takes 30 days because it’s a fair amount of work to close out an account -- we need to ensure all bills have been fully paid (maintenance, utilities, etc), tenants moved out from our system, and then finalize closing out your account.

  • You will receive your w-9 form on or before January 31 of the following year.

  • Please make sure your property is properly secured and the appropriate utilities are functioning after the termination date.  

  • SlateHouse Group PM will assume no responsibility for any damage or losses that occurred after the termination date listed above.
